A fast and bright wide-angle main lens, Venus Optics' SONY E-mount Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D lens is a rectilinear lens with a sophisticated optical design to limit distortion effectively. The bright maximum aperture of f/2 makes this lens especially useful for astrophotography and low-light use, and when combined with the minimum focusing distance of 5.9", clear and shallow depth-of-field images can also be produced. The optical construction includes three dispersion elements and two aspherical elements to control chromatic and spherical aberrations for greater sharpness, clarity and a smaller color band. A frog-eye coating has also been applied to repel dust and moisture from the front element of the lens to benefit work in dealing with environmental conditions In addition, the manual aperture ring can be removed for smooth and quiet aperture changes to suit video applications, and the front of the lens is threaded to accept 72mm thread filters.

• Ultra wide main angle designed for full-frame SONY E-mount mirrorless cameras, this 15mm f/2 can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a focal length equivalent to 22.5mm.
