As part of the art line within SIGMA's Global Vision series, this lens' is designed to achieve truly remarkable optical performance and is ideal for creative and artistic applications.
Spanning a range of short telephoto focal lengths, this 50-100mm lens is designed to NIKON DX-format DX-format DSLR F-mount, where it provides a focal length range equivalent to 75-150mm.
Impressively fast f/1.8 aperture constant maximum benefits that work in difficult lighting conditions throughout the zoom range and also offers greater control over focus when working with selective focusing techniques.
Three low-dispersion F-elements and one low-dispersion element markedly reduce chromatic aberrations and color halos throughout the zoom range. In addition, a high refractive index, the high dispersion glass element controls spherical aberrations for greater clarity and sharpness.
A multilayer super coating has been applied to lens elements in order to minimize reflections on the lens and stray lights and contribute to the production of high contrast and color neutral images, even in backlit conditions.
The integrated HSM (Hypersonic Motor) performs fast and quiet autofocus, which is further complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The HSM also allows manual focus control at all times, simply by turning the focus ring at any time.
An internal zoom and internal focus design limits the overall length of the lens during operation for more intuitive, controlled handling as well as faster performance.
The rounded nine-blade diaphragm is constructed from sturdy, fluorine-coated polycarbonate and also features a carbon feather film for smooth performance when working with continuous and fast firing rates.
The lens is constructed with a thermally stable composite material (TSC), along with traditional metals, for greater accuracy and use in wide temperature variations. The outer part of the lens tube is also engraved with the year of production.
The bayonet mount is built from brass for guaranteed precision and durability.
A, fixed rotating tripod collar offers greater stability when working from a tripod and integrates 90° click stops for intuitive switching between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations.
This lens is compatible with the optional USB SIGMA Dock for purposes of adjusting different features of the lens and updating its firmware.
