At the heart of the camera is a DX-formatted 20.9 MP CMOS sensor, which benefits not only video production needs, but also turns the Z30 into a high-capacity still camera.

• UHD 4K recording up to 30p is supported for crisp, high-resolution video needs. Full HD 120p recording is also available for slow-motion playback.
• Continuous recording of up to 2 hours and 15 minutes is possible to document events or any other situation that requires longer continuous takes.
• Live streaming is possible up to Full HD 60p or 4K 30p, and the Z30 is compatible with a variety of web conferencing applications, meaning it can also easily double as a high-quality webcam.
• For longer takes, streaming, and other instances where you need constant power, the Z30 can be powered via the USB Type-C port.

Photographic capabilities

• The versatile 20.9MP resolution also suits still image needs and means the Z30 is a perfect tool for capturing still images during productions or for shooting higher resolution thumbnails and promotional images.
• The large DX-format sensor benefits when working in low-light conditions by producing low-noise images, high clarity and a useful sensitivity range of ISO 100-51200, or up to ISO 25600 when shooting video.
• For shooting fast-moving action, a maximum continuous shooting speed of up to 11 fps is available.
• By combining still images and video, time-lapse production is possible in the camera.
• The built-in presets and filters can also be used to refine your photos and videos right from the camera.

Vlogging Basics

Designed specifically for vlogging and content creation, the Z30 incorporates a number of physical touches and operational features perfect for creators:

• The compact body design incorporates a 3.0" free-angle LCD screen with 1.04 m dots. This swivelling screen can face forward for accurate selfie compositions and can close inward to protect the screen from scratches and fingerprints when not in use.
• Selfie-style controls allow you to change the focus position and exposure, as well as set the self-timer, via the touchscreen when the screen is facing forward.
• The front red indicator light clearly indicates when the camera is recording.
• Special attention is paid to audio recording with the inclusion of a superior stereo microphone along with the inclusion of an external 3.5mm microphone port for working with an optional microphone. In addition, there is an optional dedicated Wind to reduce wind noise and improve quality when using the built-in microphone.
• Stabilize your portable videos with e-VR digital image stabilization, which helps reduce unwanted shaking and shaking during recording.

Fast and reliable autofocus

The Hybrid AF system uses phase detection and contrast detection methods to acquire focus quickly and accurately for still image and video applications.

• Eye Detection AF uses facial recognition to help lock focus on subjects' eyes.
• Face and eye tracking can recognize people, dogs, and cats, and can lock onto these subjects and follow focus as they move through the scene.
• Ideal for close-ups of products, the AF system changes focus quickly and naturally when you hold something in front of the camera and then refocuses on the subject when the product moves away.

Connectivity and Operation

• Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support works with the Snapbridge app for mobile devices, allowing remote control of the camera and wireless transfer of photos and videos to your smartphone or tablet.
• The intuitive design includes a '?' to provide a clear explanation of all camera settings, there's a dedicated Auto mode for times when you'd prefer the camera to optimise shooting settings, and there's a customisable 'i' menu for quick access to your essential settings.
