With an impressive wide-angle range, the NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S is an ultra-wide zoom for NIKON's FX-format Z-series mirrorless system. The wide field of view is especially suitable for landscape, architecture, and astrophotography applications, and the constant maximum aperture of f/4 maintains constant exposure throughout the zoom range. Regarding the optical design, the lens features four extra-low dispersion elements and four aspherical elements, which reduce a variety of aberrations and distortions to produce images with great sharpness, clarity and accurate color rendering. Both Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coatings are also used to suppress flare and ghosting for greater color fidelity and higher contrast.

Complementing optics, a stepper motor provides fast, quiet and accurate autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override to suit still images and video applications. A programmable control ring can be configured for intuitive adjustment in a variety of camera and exposure settings. In addition, the lens has a retractable cylinder without buttons to achieve a more compact form factor when not in use.
