20mm Laowa lens

Combining an exceptionally wide angle of view with the ability to correct perspective distortion, the Venus Optics Laowa 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift is an ideal lens for architectural and interior photography. Offered here in a NIKON mount, the lens' wide 94.4° angle of view is complemented by an impressive +/- 11mm offset range to compensate for unwanted converging lines and keystone distortion. In addition, as part of the Zero-D lens series, this lens also reproduces scenes with a high degree of accuracy and very low distortion.

As for the optics, there are two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements, which reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations to achieve great sharpness and clarity. A water-repellent "frog eye" coating also protects the front element of the lens from water droplets and moisture. The lens uses a manual focus design to work with subjects at a distance of up to 9.8" and has a fourteen-blade diaphragm to produce smooth, circular bokeh as well as specular reflections when stopped and photographing spot light sources.

  • Ultra-wide-angle lens designed for full-frame NIKON Z cameras, but can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a focal length equivalent to 32mm.
  • As part of the Zero-D series, this lens has an optical design that depicts subjects with minimal distortion to suit architectural, interior and landscape applications.
  • The built-in +/- 11mm offset adjustment helps correct perspective distortion and eliminate keystone distortion.
  • Large image circle easily covers full-frame sensors without vignettes. In addition, this lens can also be adapted to selected medium format mirrorless cameras, where a shift of up to +/- 8 mm is available.
  • Two aspherical elements limit spherical aberrations and distortion to improve sharpness and accurate rendering.
  • Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce chromatic aberrations and color stripes for greater clarity and color neutrality.
  • The manual focus design and a minimum focusing distance of 9.8" are suitable for working with close-up subjects.
  • The fourteen-blade diaphragm creates smooth, circular bokeh as well as specular reflections when stopped and spot light sources are photographed.
  • The 360° rotating lens hood prevents unwanted lens flare and faded images and allows you to adjust the angle of the lens hood to avoid blocking the image during extreme changes in composition.
  • The water-resistant "frog eye" coating protects the front element of the lens from water droplets and moisture.
  • Compatible with optional shift lens mount for more balanced mounting and to better enable lens use for shift-rate stitched panoramic shots without parallax error.
