Front thread for filters and rear filter holder

The extraordinary design capacity and high precision in the manufacture of this class of products by SIGMA has made it possible to equip the 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art of a thread for front filters despite its large aperture of F1.4 and the ultra-wide angle of view it has.

The optics also include a rear filter holder, thus offering the possibility of combining multiple filters to cope with a wide variety of shooting situations with enormous creativity. For example, using a front filter aimed at reducing light pollution and a diffuser filter in the rear filter holder to obtain stunning shots of night landscapes with the starry sky.

The new MFL (Manual Focus Lock) switch to disable the focus ring makes it possible to focus on the shot without having to worry about an accidental change in focus distance.

In addition, the design of the optical barrel is optimized so that it is possible to place safely and stably in it a heater intended to prevent internal condensation when the temperature drops during night sessions outdoors, preventing this accessory from appearing in the final image or causing vignetting.

Features such as the focus mode switch, a configurable AFL button and an aperture lock switch contribute to increased ease of use. In addition, a click cancellation switch when rotating the aperture ring provides smooth, soundless operation of this mechanism during video recording.

The robust body is constructed from a combination of aluminum and TSC (thermally stable composite) that gives it a smooth finish. For its part, the petal-shaped sunshade included is equipped with a locking mechanism that allows it to be kept securely fixed in the optics, and also has a rough part to make it easier to remove and place.
