By pairing the PANASONIC HC-V785K Full HD camcorder with your smartphone, you can record two camera angles at once, the HC-V785K's main sensor image in Full HD and a secondary picture-in-picture image from your phone's camera. But the HC-V785K also works alone. It features a 20x optical zoom lens with an equivalent focal length of 29.5 to 612mm, giving you a wide angle when zooming out and a substantial amount of telephoto when zooming in, with the ability to record slow-motion in Full HD at up to 240fps. Through its lens design partnership with LEICA, PANASONIC incorporates a LEICA Dicomar 20x optical zoom lens with four separate optical groups and a maximum aperture of f/1.8.

To keep excessive image shake to a minimum and achieve more stable manual shots, the HC-V785K features PANASONIC HYBRID OIS+, which combines optical and digital image stabilization to provide 5-axis correction. Adjustable settings allow you to find the most appropriate stabilization mode for the type of capture you are taking. From OFF for tripod work to Normal for normal manual work, to Strong for times when things get really shaky.

Dual camera operation

The HC-V785K can connect to your smartphone via Wi-Fi and use it as a secondary camera. With this functionality, you can shoot from alternate distances or angles for a variety of picture-in-picture images.

HDR (High Dynamic Range) movie mode

By combining two images taken with different exposure times, the HDR Movie feature suppresses highlights and blocked shadows for sharper, clearer videos. With HDR, you can maintain the gradation of your images in difficult shooting situations, such as when the subject is backlit.

Baby Calendar / Stop-motion Animation Assistant

Set the baby's name and birthday to display thumbnail images of scenes recorded on and around that date, making it easy to find the scenes you want. By moving the subject slightly and taking still images, you can create a unique animated slideshow. Previously taken photos are displayed with an onion skin effect for easy overlay.

Creative control

Built-in filter effects, including Miniature, 8mm Film, Silent Film, and Time-Lapse Recording, allow you to match your video recordings to the shooting situation.

Full HD slow motion video

The HC-V785K records Full HD (1920 x 1080) video at 240fps. For a more dramatic slow-motion effect, Crystal Engine's intelligent frame creation interpolates frames to achieve 240fps equivalent. You can easily switch to slow motion while recording with a simple tap on the LCD screen.

High-speed precision autofocus

The image sensor has a reading of 60 fps, allowing for fast focusing speed, stability and tracking performance.

Level shooting function

Level Shot automatically detects and corrects the tilt of images. It can be adjusted in three different levels: Off, Normal or Strong, depending on the shooting conditions.

5-axis HYBRID OIS

Stabilized on five axes (pan, tilt and roll axes, plus horizontal and vertical directions), the HYBRID OIS suppresses blur in your videos when you're not using a tripod or other stabilizer.

Multimanual dial

Various camera functions can be controlled using the multi-manual dial. These features include:

WiFi functionality

The HC-V785K Wi-Fi does more than allow you to capture video from your phone's camera as a secondary camera angle. You can preview a live image on your mobile device using the PANASONIC Image app and change the camera settings. If the camera has internet access, it can even upload web-compatible copies of videos and photos directly to social media websites. In addition, there is a baby monitor feature that allows you to use the camera as an IP surveillance camera, watching a remote broadcast over the Internet.

One-touch connection: NFC allows you to instantly connect a smartphone or tablet to the camcorder with just one touch. Even without an NFC phone, QR codes are provided to make Wi-Fi setups.

Remote Shooting/Remote View: The PANASONIC Image app allows you to use a smartphone or tablet as a real-time remote control to control the camcorder remotely. View photos and videos directly from the camcorder on a smartphone or tablet and upload them to a social media site.

Real-time streaming: You can stream live events on USTREAM while recording in Full HD resolution (requires wireless access point).

Baby Monitor: Monitor baby anytime and from anywhere with a smartphone or tablet. Automatic notification sends an instant alert when the audio sensor detects that the baby is waking up or crying (requires a wireless access point).

Home Monitoring: When you are away from home, your camcorder can record high-quality live video and you can monitor and talk to your family or pets at home from your smartphone or tablet.

Automatic Transfer (Wireless PC Copy): Images are transferred from your camcorder to your PC via the wireless access point at home.

Highlight Playback and Easy Share: You can enjoy Highlight Playback with a smartphone or tablet right after shooting. Favorite scenes can be shared on SNS with a simple drag and drop operation.

Wireless TV Playback: A home hotspot can be used to wirelessly transfer data to the TV or tablet in the living room or to other rooms in the house (requires wireless access point).
