In terms of measurements, the new model has a diameter of 90.6 millimeters and a length of 207 millimeters (205 in the case of the L-Mount model), while the zoom dimensions for SLR cameras are 94.2 by 202.9 millimeters.

In addition, the 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS | Sports has a 77-millimeter filter thread, smaller than the 82-millimeter thread on the DSLR lens.

SIGMA has also been revealed that the new lens features an optical construction made up of 20 elements distributed in 15 groups. A set that includes eight low-dispersion lenses (two SLD and six FLD, whose performance is equivalent to that of fluorite) and three aspherical elements.
