The optical performance and range from 24 to 70mm of this Vario-Tessar ZEISS® design® form the perfect match for E-mount and full-frame bodies. In addition to the image quality superior at all focal lengths, it provides a versatile zoom range in a compact lens that brings out the best in α7 series bodies to photograph a wide variety of subjects.

Five aspherical elements and an ED glass element in state-of-the-art optics suppress distortion to deliver excellent sharpness and quality rendering across the full zoom range. ZEISS®'s renowned T* coating controls reflections for superior contrast, while the circular aperture helps create a soft background bokeh effect with natural touches of light.

F4's constant aperture at all focal lengths means the user can zoom in and shoot at any aperture without needing to modify exposure or depth of field settings, and thus concentrate on shooting rather than technical details.

Built-in optical SteadyShot image stabilization compensates for camera movement causing blurry images when shooting handheld. Night scenes or low-lit indoor shots can be clearly and clearly immortalized without the need to excessively increase ISO sensitivity, eliminating the risk of higher noise.
