Images captured in a 20x optical zoom range that covers everything from wide angles to close-ups are transmitted in high quality 4K 60p. In addition, interoperability with existing systems has been improved by incorporating support for ITU709/709tone, S-Cinetone™ and S-Log3.

• PTZ Auto Framing function with built-in AI

Advanced AI analysis allows you to accurately track subjects with smooth, natural framing, making it easier than ever to produce high-quality content with fewer camera operators. The direct drive of the pan and tilt functions by newly developed motors makes it possible for the camera to operate exceptionally smoothly. This advanced drive system is also extremely quiet, making it ideal for situations where noise is required.

A 1.0" Exmor™ RS image sensor with approximately 14.0 million effective pixels and the latest BIONZ XR image processing engine work in unison to achieve high resolution and low noise. Textures and materials are reproduced with real-life accuracy.

This newly developed integrated lens features a 20x optical zoom range. In addition, SONY 's advanced Clear Image Zoom offers 30x (720mm) zoom in 4K and 40x (940mm) zoom in Full HD. This provides an extraordinary range that allows you to easily capture a subject in a variety of situations.

Built-in variable ND filter for automatic exposure adjustment

Sony's original built-in variable electronic ND (ND) filter allows for smooth variation between 1/4 and 1/128 ND, with an automatic exposure mode that automatically maintains the ideal exposure in different lighting conditions. That ideal exposure can be maintained when, for example, the stage light changes, without having to adjust the iris, shutter or gain. In addition, such ideal exposure can be achieved without affecting depth of field in the widest possible range of lighting conditions.

• Fast color matching with other SONY cameras

Color matching with SONY camera systems is simple thanks to ITU709 and 709tone standards, and S-Cinetone and S-Log3 for Cinema Line cameras. This allows for seamless multi-camera operation.

High-precision recognition technology

AI analysis uses human pose, head, face, clothing, and other data to recognize subjects that are people with high accuracy. This can be used to control pan, tilt and zoom functions automatically to follow, for example, an athlete at a sporting event. The PTZ Auto Framing function is fluid and creates a natural look, making it possible to work with a smaller camera crew.

• High-performance AF and PTZ Auto Framing function combine for excellent subject tracking

The new Exmor™ RS image sensor and BIONZ XR image processing engine work in unison to deliver high accuracy and high speed subject detection to significantly improve tracking performance. The image sensor has focal plane phase-detection AF in the image area, allowing fast-moving subjects to focus on a wide area with ease and high speed and accuracy.

The PTZ Auto Framing function works with this newly adopted AF system to greatly improve the overall AF tracking performance. For example, you can confidently follow and consistently and accurately focus on an artist who is actively moving around the stage. With this capability, a multi-camera system can be set up to follow individual artists without the need for a large camera crew.

• Extensive connectivity

In addition to the main 12G SDI output, 3G SDI output is also included for monitoring purposes. The BRC-AM7 camera offers a variety of video output options, such as 12G SDI fiber optic available via an SFP slot, and HDMI. The audio input can be connected using a pair of 3-pin XLR connectors or a 3.5mm stereo jack, offering connection compatibility.

The camera can be powered via a standard 4-pin XLR connector or via a PoE++* network connection without the need to add cabling in environments where a power infrastructure is not available.
