Sony's fastest APS-C lens, the E 15mm f/1.4G, is a bright, wide-angle 22.5mm equivalent main lens that features advanced G-series optics and a sleek design that's ideal for travel, scenery and walking shots. In addition to prioritizing image quality and speed, this lens also features an intuitive handling design and smooth focusing performance that suits vlogging and video recording applications.

G-Series Lens

• The main wide-angle offers a focal length equivalent to 22.5mm, making it a versatile choice for anything from street to landscape to travel, as well as selfie-style vlogging needs.
• The fast maximum aperture of f/1.4 is ideal for selective focusing techniques and shallow depth of field, and also excels in low-light conditions.
• Three aspherical elements help achieve great sharpness and suppress distortion and spherical aberrations.
• One Super ED element and two ED elements promote greater clarity and color accuracy by reducing chromatic aberrations.
• The rounded 7-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and natural bokeh quality.

Refined focus performance

The linear motor system uses two independent motors to provide fast, quiet and accurate autofocus and tracking performance. This design also contributes to more natural and intuitive linear-response manual focus control and an AF/MF switch is located on the lens cylinder to quickly change the focus mode.

• The internal focus design offers more responsive focusing performance and maintains a constant overall lens length during operation.
• Suitable for close-ups, the minimum focusing distance is 6.7" with a maximum magnification of 0.15x when using manual focus, or 7.9" with 0.12x magnification when using autofocus.
• Smooth Motion Optics (SMO) suppresses focus breathing to help maintain composition accuracy when changing focus. This lens also supports the breath compensation function on selected Alpha cameras.
