The Loxia 50mm f2.0 Planar T* ZEISS lens is a normal primary lens for full-frame SONY E-mount mirrorless digital cameras. Its manual focus design has been developed in regards specifically for use with electronic viewfinders, and it also features a manual aperture ring that can be 'click-and-click' for quiet operation best suited for filmmakers. Based on the concept of Planar symmetrical optics, this lens is expert in correcting chromatic aberrations and distortion throughout the aperture range while maintaining image coherence and clarity. In addition, an anti-reflective coating ZEISS T* has also been applied to individual lens elements to further reduce lens glare and ghosting to improve image clarity and contrast. Serving as a unique choice for the contemporary image creator, the ZEISS Loxia series of lenses are built for the imaging demands of modern full-frame digital cameras, still based on conventional manual controls. Offering a perspective reminiscent of normal eyesight, the 50mm focal length pairs and with the fast f/2 maximum aperture for greater focus position control and low-light performance. In addition, lens handling details have also been enhanced for maximum regeneration and accuracy, including a 180° long focus shot, clearly engraved scale marks, and a robust, all-metal construction with weatherproof lenses for gasket mounting. In addition, the lens is equipped with an electronic interface that transmits all EXIF data from the camera and can also be configured to automatically activate camera-based focus assists during use.
