The X-T10 features an X-Trans™*3 CMOS II APS-C sensor with integrated phase detection AF. Coupled with a high-performance image processing engine and FUJINON lenses, the camera offers excellent resolution and outstanding image quality, backed by unique color reproduction technology. The X-T10 employs the new AF system It offers the conventional 49-point single-point mode for high speed and accuracy, in addition to area and wide-angle/tracking modes that track the subject's movement over an area greater than 77 points, greatly improving the camera's ability to capture moving subjects. Combined with AF-C capability and continuous shooting speed of up to 8.0 fps*4, the camera delivers the high-quality images associated with the X Series, in a wide variety of photographic situations.

Main features of the Fujifilm X-T10

Innovative design that condenses the manageability of the X series into a compact and lightweight body

The compact and lightweight body design brings the hallmark of an X-series camera. Both the superior plate and the base are made of molten magnesium, which is lightweight, but very rigid. The superior plate includes three precision-milled aluminum dials that give the X-T10 a premium feel and allow users to intuitively adjust the combination of aperture, shutter speed and shooting functions while concentrating on taking pictures. In addition, the rear panel has a 3-inch, 920,000-point tilting LCD monitor suitable for shooting both above the head and near the ground. There will be two color options: black or silver.

It is also equipped with an automatic mode shift lever to select the SR Auto Advanced mode, which is fully automatic. In this mode, the camera automatically chooses the optimal settings for a certain scene with which to shoot effortlessly.

Each of the two control dials and seven built-in function buttons can be customized to tailor the camera to the user's needs.

The body also incorporates an integral deployable flash, placed in the center of the superior plate. The built-in super-intelligent flash automatically adjusts the light output depending on the type of scene.

Real-time viewer

With a magnification of 0.62x and a display delay of just 0.005 seconds, the X-T10 has the largest and fastest viewfinder. It offers a clear, high-definition Live View function thanks to the new organic EL electronic viewfinder with 2.36 million dots, and visibility has also been improved by automatically controlling the brightness of the viewfinder according to ambient light levels. The Live View can also be set to the "Preview Image Effect" option to reflect shooting conditions and offer a natural view close to what you see with your eyes. The viewfinder's eye sensor also automatically orients the information when the camera is positioned vertically, something that is not possible on models with optical viewfinders.

X-TransTM CMOS II sensor and EXR II processor combine to deliver outstanding image quality and high-speed performance

The camera incorporates Fujifilm's 16.3-megapixel APS-C X-Trans™ CMOS II sensor. Its unique random color filter matrix reduces muaré and false colors without having to use a low-pass optical filter. By removing the low-pass filter, which compromises image quality, a greater amount of light reaches the sensor. When combined with the EXR II image processor, the sensor offers outstanding resolution and low noise.

Fujifilm has combined the processor's noise reduction feature with technology to mount integrated circuit boards that reduce noise in images with high sensitivity. This achieves an ISO sensitivity adjustment of up to 51200*5. Even with very high sensitivity, the camera produces reduced noise and deep blacks, which expands the photographic potential in low light conditions.

The camera incorporates unique Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO) *6 image processing technology to produce the best possible image quality. Using the optical performance and other features of each lens, the LMO corrects for optical defects such as diffraction*7 for edge-to-edge sharpness and a realistic three-dimensional effect.

The unique phase detection AF system on the sensor focuses in as little as 0.06 seconds*8. With the EXR II high-speed image processor, the camera boots up in as little as 0.5 seconds*9, has a shutter release delay of 0.05 seconds, and a shooting interval of 0.5 seconds*10.

New AF system with area and wide-angle/tracking modes to effortlessly capture moving subjects

The new AF system offers 49-point single-point mode for high accuracy and speed, plus area and wide-angle/tracking modes that use a larger 77-point focus area to capture moving subjects.

With area mode users can select a 3x3, 5x3 or 5x5 area from the 77-point AF area. During AF-C focusing, the camera continuously follows a subject, placed in the center of the area. In particular, the centrally placed 3x3 and 5x3 areas offer fast focus thanks to phase detection AF on the sensor.

  • Wide-angle/tracking mode is a combination of wide-angle mode (during AF-S), in which the camera automatically identifies and tracks the area focused by the 77-point AF area, and predictive tracking mode (during AF-C), which uses the entire 77-point area to continuously track a subject. Thanks to this function you can maintain continuous focus on a subject that moves up and down, left and right or zooms in and out of the camera.
  • Single-point mode divides the focus area into smaller sections to more accurately determine the distance to the subject and thus further increase focus accuracy. The operating range of phase detection AF on the sensor has been improved from 2.5 EV to 0.5 EV so that phase detection AF works at higher speeds even in low light conditions or with a low contrast subject.
  • The camera incorporates Eye Detection AF, which automatically detects and focuses on people's eyes. That function serves to easily focus on the eyes even in difficult conditions, for example, when shooting a portrait with a maximum aperture for intense bokeh effects.
  • The auto macro feature activates macro mode while maintaining AF speed and eliminates the need to press the Macro button to capture a close-up. This allows you to reassign the Macro button to a different function.
  • The optimized algorithm achieves a more natural and smooth autofocus during video recording.
  • By combining phase-detection AF and predictive subject motion AF data, the camera can continuously shoot with AF-C at a maximum of approximately 8.0 fps.

18 high-performance FUJINON X-mount lenses that deliver excellent image quality and expand the possibilities of photography

The latest digital technologies have been used to develop the X-mount lenses, offering high-precision optical designs to deliver the highest possible image quality. When designing the range of lenses, we have tried to achieve a high-resolution definition throughout the frame of the images and offer the maximum aperture with the highest possible brightness to favor creativity, but maintaining a compact and portable size. The current range of 18 lenses ranges from ultra-wide to telephoto and includes five fixed focal length and fast aperture lenses. Those lenses get the best image quality of the X-T10. Optional accessories, such as mount adapters and macro extension tubes, expand the photographic potential.

Perfect your color photos with film simulation and fine art photography

Fujifilm's unprecedented image quality has been created over 80 years of photographic film development. Thanks to this technology, the camera can reproduce warm skin tones, bright blue skies and lush green trees just as photographers remember the scene. The X-T10 incorporates the latest CLASSIC CHROME film simulation mode, which reproduces soft tones and deep colors. Users can choose from ten other modes that simulate the effects of traditional Fujifilm movies. These are the effects of color reverse film (VELVIA/PROVIA/ASTIA), professional color negative film (PRO Neg.Std / PRO Neg.Hi), black and white filters (BLACK AND WHITE, yellow filter, red filter and green filter) and SEPIA.

There are also advanced filter functions on the X-T10. Users can choose from eight different artistic effects:

  • Pop color: enhances color contrast and saturation.
  • Toy Camera: Create shaded edges as if you were taking a photo with a toy camera.
  • Thumbnail: Add blur superior and bottom to get a diorama or thumbnail effect.
  • Dynamic tone: Creates a fantasy effect by dynamically modulated tone reproduction.
  • Partial Color: Preserves a selected original color and changes the rest of the photo to black and white. Red, yellow, green, blue, orange and purple colors can be selected.
  • High Key: Improves brightness and reduces contrast to lighten tone reproduction.
  • Low key: create dark tones evenly by highlighting some areas.
  • Smooth focus: Creates a smooth look evenly throughout the image.

The Multi-Exposure feature gives users the ability to combine two different subjects into one photo and is perfect for adding people to photos in which they were not present.

The camera's image ratio can be chosen between 3:2, 16:9 and 1:1 (square) to suit a wide variety of photographic styles.

The camera also incorporates an ADVANCED AUTO SR mode, which recognizes faces and all types of scenes, to automatically optimize focus, exposure, ISO sensitivity and other settings.

Interval timer shooting is also available for interval photography, which supports intervals of one second to 24 hours and up to 999 frames.

A fully silent electronic trigger has been added that supports exposures up to 1/32000 sec. Now you can take pictures with a shallow depth of field with the aperture wide open, for example, in snowy fields or on the beach under bright skies. Since there are no mechanically controlled parts, it's easier than ever to capture spontaneous photos of animals and sleeping babies.

Other features include split digital imaging for precise manual focus, and focus spikes, which highlight the subject's outline in high-contrast areas. Those areas can be highlighted in white, red or blue, to offer focus guidance even when photographing a scene that is difficult to focus.
