The AW-UE40 has a compact housing with a new design and a weight of just 1.8 kg that makes it easy to handle and install in any type of environment, especially if the camera is placed on trusses or ceilings.

Single Cable Solutions

The AW-UE40 also supports PoE+, which allows a single cable to be used for camera power, control, and video streaming.

Direct drive motor

The AW-UE40 incorporates a direct drive system based on PANASONIC 's unique technology that allows for quiet and smooth vertical and horizontal travel, with a reduced operating sound of NC25 or lower. Direct drive also opens up more opportunities for PTZ camera operation, including faster, more precise and more accurate movements in preset positioning, making it the fastest, quietest and most accurate PTZ camera in PANASONIC history.

Support for online video content

When using USB virtual PTZ software and using a LAN connection, it is possible to get video and audio from the UE40 in the same way as you would with a USB camera. The AW-UE40 also features privacy mode, which shifts the lense to the back when on standby.

Enhanced 4K sensor

The AW-UE40 features a new 1/2.5-type 4K MOS sensor that allows you to record stunning UHD videos with True 4K resolution from 1,500 TV lines in UHD. The UE40 supports HDMI and IP, making it an ideal choice for use in existing HD or 4K workflows thanks to its simultaneous video output feature.

Lense wide angle

The AW-UE40 features a new wide-angle lense with a 74.1° field of view and 24x optical zoom, allowing a large area to be filmed from a limited installation space, while maintaining high image quality with high zoom ratios. This allows filming in large indoor spaces. Intelligent zoom expands its functionalities to 28x in UHD and 36x in Full-HD.

Optical zoom and image stabilization

Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) has been added to the unit to ensure smooth pan and tilt movements when working in busier environments, or the user moving or the camera being placed, for example, on a robotic system.

New processor

The AW-UE40 features a powerful new processor, which allows the PTZ to be incredibly responsive and capable of augmenting video processing tasks for higher image quality and lower latency.

4K and HD analog outputs

The AW-UE40 supports 4K 25p/30p video recording at 3840 x 2160 for professional, high-quality recording of moving images, as well as a wide variety of output interfaces, such as HDMI and IP, that can be activated simultaneously for HD and 4K workflows. It is also compatible with USB*.

New NDI|HX, SRT and IP

There are also a wide variety of IP transmission protocols available. Out of the box, the Secure Reliable Transport (SRT*1) protocol is available to maintain stability in high-quality video streams, even in unstable network environments. SRT enables the distribution of video over the public Internet in a secure and reliable way by providing encryption and lost packets are automatically detected and forwarded.

The AW-UE40 also supports the NDI|HX*2 version 2 with low bandwidth and high efficiency, which is available through an optional paid upgrade. This allows video transmission at low data transfer rates over a single LAN cable.

RTMP/RTMPS*3 features make it easy to stream directly to live streaming services such as YouTube Live and Facebook Live directly from the camera.

New web interface and simplified workflows

A new web interface has been introduced so that professional operators working in darker environments can easily navigate the advanced graphical user interface for operators.

Panasonic offers a whole system of solutions that allows the new PTZ cameras to be seamlessly integrated into existing camera systems. This includes use with its remote camera controllers, PTZ Control Center centralized control software, and its auto-tracking software for presentations and conferences, enabled by facial recognition and human body detection.
